Chatham Islands Tour, 26th Jan to 2nd Feb 2023
Visiting the Chathams, one of the most remote parts of New Zealand, is a unique experience. Located 800 km east of the South Island, the Chathams are a remote, ocean-bound wilderness and are most famous for plentiful fresh seafood and fascinating marine and wildlife. They are made up of 10 islands with a radius of approx. 60 km. The largest of the islands are Chatham and Pitt. We will be staying at Awarakau Lodge which is at the centre of a 1100 acre farm. Visitors talk about the home-style cuisine, personalised serve and the sharing of histories and experiences that they have here. Rosemarie is a 6th generation Chatham Islander. Her family has been farming this part of the Chathams since the 1800s

Embroiderers and Quilters Tour, April 2023
Advance Notice of two New Tours
August/September 2023 New Caledonia
England, May 2024
England
England in the Spring time has been described as the time of bees, buds, blossoms, bluebells, butterflies, birds and daffodils. We have many times travelled to the UK in the Autumn but this time we are concentrating on just England and in the Spring to be able to enjoy the beautiful English countryside at its best. By concentrating on England we will have time to explore into more ‘nooks and crannies’ around this delightful country. England is a treasure trove for people interested in textile but non-embroiderers/quilters will also love the fact that these specialist visits are off the beaten track in truly beautiful spots. Our journey will take us from the beautiful stretches of coastline in Cornwall in the South to the Norfolk Broads in the East, Lake district in the North and Bath and the Cotswolds in the West and many other delightful places in between. |
New Caledonia.
A French archipelago in the heart of the Pacific. New Caledonia offers a fascinating blend of Melanesian (Kanak) and French culture in a beautiful Pacific Island (or group of Islands) surrounded with delightful turquoise coloured water. We will travel in Sept/Oct to get away from our cold, wet winter and enjoy their lovely warm weather, staying mainly in and around the Noumea region. Our tour will be a combination of relaxation, enjoying excellent food, shopping and learning about the history of New Caledonia, once a penal colony for France, and the culture and history of the Kanak people. |
